Exodus 27 — Sketch
Not a Barbecue
Big Idea:
God tells Israel to build a sacrificial altar. It is to be made of Acacia wood and covered in bronze with horns on each corner.
God tells them to build a fence, creating a courtyard around the Tabernacle. It is to be made of linen and posts with silver hooks and bronze bases.
The entrance to the courtyard is to open toward the east. It is to be made of a curtain of red, blue, and purple woven yarn.
God tells Israel to provide special oil to keep the Tabernacle lamps burning.
Jesus in This Chapter:
The altar is where sacrifices were made. These sacrifices foreshadowed the ultimate sacrifice for our sin — Jesus.
The courtyard had only one entrance — on the east side. Likewise, there is only one way to enter into a right relationship with God — through Jesus.
