Exodus 34 — Sketch
Moses Left Glowing
Big Idea:
God has Moses chisel two stone tablets and go up to the top of Mt. Sinai.
God comes down in the cloud to stand with Moses and proclaim His name.
God makes a covenant with Moses.
God warns Israel to be faithful to him, to not make idols, to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread, to give Him their first offspring, to bring Him offerings, to observe the Sabbath, to celebrate the Feast of Weeks and to bring Him their best.
After fasting for 40 days and nights on the mountain, Moses comes back to Israel with the new tablets.
Moses’ face is so radiant after seeing with God, he has to put a veil over his head before anyone can look at him.
Jesus in This Chapter:
Moses covered his face when it was filled with the glory of God. But centuries later, we are told to let our light shine because it will “give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” Moses hid the effect that seeing God had on his face. But we who know Christ are told to show the effect of God in our lives to everyone around us.
