Finding The One

Big Idea:

  • Abraham sends his chief servant back to his home country to find a wife for Isaac.

  • The servant goes with camels to the town of Nahor and stops by a well.

  • The servant prays for God to show him the woman for Isaac by having her offer to water his camels.

  • Rebekah offers to water the servant’s camels.

  • The servant gives Rebekah a nose ring and bracelets and speaks to her brother, Laban.

  • Rebekah’s family is reluctant to let her go right away, but she chooses to go.

  • While meditating in a field, Isaac sees the servant coming with Rebekah.

  • Rebekah gets off her camel and goes to Isaac.

  • Isaac marries Rebekah.

Jesus in This Chapter:

Abraham sent his servant to bring back a wife for Isaac, and God sent Jesus into creation to bring us back into relationship with Him.
