Leviticus 9 — Sketch
Fire from God
Big Idea:
Moses tells Aaron, his sons, and the elders to prepare a bull for a sin offering and a ram for a burnt offering. He also tells the Israelites to prepare a male goat for a sin offering, a calf or lamb for a burnt offering, an ox and ram for a fellowship offering, and a grain offering.
Everyone gathers at the Tabernacle, and Aaron performs the sacrifices and then blesses the people.
Moses and Aaron go into the Tabernacle. When they come out, they bless the people again.
The glory of the Lord appears to everyone, and fire comes from the presence of the Lord and consumes the offerings. Everyone worships.
Jesus in This Chapter:
I love that God himself ignites the fire for the sacrifice. This foreshadows how Christ would give himself up. We really have nothing to do with our salvation - It’s all Jesus.
