The Nations Form

Big Idea:

• Japheth’s family becomes a maritime people.

• Ham’s family becomes the civilizations of Egypt, Babylon, and Assyria.

• King Nimrod is a mighty hunter before the Lord.

• Shem’s family goes to the eastern hill country.

Jesus in this Chapter:

Here we see the nations begin to form as people set out across the earth. It reminds me of Luke 3:6 where John the Baptist identifies Jesus as the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophesy: “all mankind will see God’s salvation.”
